AECO MCB, A simple looking device is a perfect
technological combination of switching and protection devices to
provide maximum protection with minimum cost. Such features have made AECO
MCBs suitable for a wider variety of applications especially where MCBs were
previously considered unsuitable. |
Characteristic
Suitable for control and protection of circuits having imP9rtant
transient currents such as large motors. |
|

|
|
TECHNICAL AND ECONOMIC ADVANTAGES |
|
- High short circuit making and breaking capacity.
- Current limiting for low let through energy and maximum safety
- Very good selectivity related to upstream circuit breakers and back up
protection fuses.
- Protection to downstream switchgear applications and electrical
equipment.
- Inexpensive, near fuseless, distribution systems since high short
circuit, no costs of spare fuses and stocking.
- No faults due to ageing
- Various versions for specific applications.
- Compact dimensions and modular constructions.
- Wide range of DBs and consumer units for ease of installation.
|
DC-Series -DC applications Idealy
suited for applications in DC circuits also. They cope with short circuit
currents upto 1 kA.
The time constant (T=LR/C) of the consumer circuit is the decisive factor
in interrupting DC currents. Voltages upto 220 V per pole can be switched at
time constants < 5ms. The tripping characteristics may vary as per
customer's requirement. Normal B, C or D characteristic AECO MCBs may be
used upto 72V on d.c. upto 1.5 kA short -circuit capacity. The d.c. current
does not have any effect on the tripping times in thermal range but the
minimum current for instantaneous magnetic operation will be :t40% higher
than at AC.
AECO DC MCBs are also designed for Railway applications as per
SPEC/E-12/1/04.

AECO MCBs are available with four types of characteristic
tripping curves for different types of applications they are put to. These
curves are shown in the chart below. |

B Characteristic |
Suitable for installations having only resistive loads such as: electrical
heating, ovens, geysers, GLS, lamps, electric iron stoves etc. These type
are also used for protection of distribution equipment like wires, cables,
metering equipment etc.
